Alternative Income for Retirees

According to a recent working paper from the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College titled “How Accurate Are Retirees’ Assessments of Their Retirement Risk?” sorts different risks to retirement income security. For many retirees and pre-retirees, the conversation with their advisor includes thoughtful planning for income requirements. An alternative to bonds is the use of equity portfolios with a “covered call” overlay.
